KVM is infrastructure by which we can share monitor, mouse and keyboard between a numbers of computers therefore we can control several computers by equipments of one computer.
In case of impossibility of accessing to the server via "Remote desktop connection", might use KVM.
One of the features of KVM is over IP.
By setting IP addresses and availability of LAN or WAN network and an internet connection, you can connect to KVM and soon after communication you are able to control and supervise the connected servers to KVM.
KVM over IP advantages:
- Web base: KVM is web base; it means that there is no need to install any special software for connecting to the servers and it can be run by any web browser.
- Scalability: KVM is remote control, and by expanding and modifying the network and increasing the number of computers remote controlling is possible.
- Control BIOS level: it is possible to access to a computer BIOS remotely and manage it.
- High security: KVM has been designed with very high level of security, as much as it has been used in bank systems in which very high level of security is required.
